27 and 28(Advance Wars:DOR Launch Event)

(wow my 1st post...anyways....)
27 and 28...Those were are numbers. Raith and myself promptly got ready around 7 am as we prepared for our long long wait. We met up in a train station at about 7:45 with high hopes that we would soon return both with copies of the latest Advance Wars for the Nintendo DS. We arrived at Nintendo World Store at about 8:15 and it wasn't looking to well...we were in the 70's. However we still had high hopes as many were there to purchase a Nintendo Wii. Hours passed...... both of us were too cold to even play our DS's as we waited. 9 o'clock rolls around than 10. Finally one our till store opens. Lines are split. Wii wanters on 1 side and AW:DOR fans waiting on another that's when we realized we were too late... people counted and Raith was 27 while I was 28. 11 o'clock roles around... FINALLY! the store opens and the wii wanters go in... but wait whats this? We have to continue waiting till the event starts at 1 pm which means 2 more hours of waiting in the cold but hey at least at around 12pm we were given some nice beanies.

While on line we met some friends, including one girl that actually started to fake cry to try and get people kicked off the line for waiting in a car so that we would get free games too(extra points for her(she also got to be 25th so she got her free game) and we got harassed by others as well as cut in line but all in all it was alright. We finally get in side and the store is pretty packed. People were given 2 hours to purchase the game before the prelaunch sale was up. Raith took advantage of this and purchased his game while I continued to walk around and just explore. I saw that they were giving out shirts for the simple task of creating a custom map. I quickly BS'd this and was now the proud owner of a AW shirt. There really wasn't much else to do other than a tourney and a trivia event. Both of which we lost... yet we met some familiar faces. Rawmeatcowboy and Mombrain from Gonintendo.com were there. Also it turned out there was no photo-op with costumed characters. All in all it was a pretty fun day but was in no way worth freezing our toes off for the 5 hours we waited in line. I didn't take many pics but i took some and will upload them soon.

Anyways expect my Next Post very soon when i start my lil' Retro Corner. First game being Space Channel 5 for the Dreamcast(expecting in mail never tried it b4 expect a Video of me playing it for the 1st time).
